My Computer Specifications:
Windows 11 OS
8GB RAM
256GB SSD ROM
1TB HDD ROM
CPU Intel Core i5
Step by Step Procedure:
First, check the minimum system requirements for NodeJS and ReactJS. If your system fulfills it, start with this tutorial. If not, please consider upgrading your system. Now, install NodeJS framework from the official NodeJS website on your operating system as our code will be written in JSX. Make sure to choose LTS(Long Term Support) version as it’s recommended. In my case, I picked Windows Installer version 64-bit 18.18.0 x86.msi.
In the NodeJS app, you get an option to install Node Package Manager(npm). Click yes when prompted.
Now, open the command prompt(Windows Key + R) and enter
node -v
. It must show its version you installed. Also, enter
npm-v
after that. Check if the correct version is installed. If you see an older version, enter
npm install -g npm
. Check version again by typing
npm -v
and pressing the enter button.
Lets install ReactJS now by entering
npx create-react-app my-react-app
. Replace
my-app
with your project name. Enter y to proceed.
After installation is finished, enter
cd my-react-app npm-start
to access your newly made ReactJS project. Your terminal page will open a link http://localhost:3000 in your browser. 3000 is the port number for your web development server.
Next, pick a landing page design of your liking from sites such as Pinterest, Behance and Dribbble. Go to
my-react-app
folder by entering
cd my-react-app
everytime you want to access your project folder. Start writing the code in Visual Studio Code by entering
cd my-react-app
code. in the command prompt. Add npm start to the command to visit your website. We’re finally done with ReactJS tutorial.
